From The Hive To You Via Bulgaria and Darlington
As a business fully registered with DEFRA, Pretty Wild seeds take the sourcing of their seeds and products very seriously. After 9 months of researching the farms available to them, they finally settled on Bulgaria's oldest Bee Farm to help them provide a premium product which really delivers that wow factor when people are opening gifts. Flavours include;
Wild Forest
Acacia
Polyflower
Thyme
Wildflower
Lavender
How Can There Be Different Flavours From The Same Farm?
Where bees get their nectar and pollen depends on the season and the available blooming plants in the area. This all contributes to how the honey tastes, as well as to its colour and texture. When the honeybee is wrestling in a flower collecting nectar and pollen, she gets covered in pollen granules which inevitably find their way into the finished (capped) honey. This pollen not only adds to a honey’s unique characteristics, but it is the traceable indicator, not nectar, to which flowers the honeybee visited during her foraging.
The average distance a Bee will travel from the Hive is around a two mile radius, so as the farms grow different species of flower around each set of Hives they can affectively tailor each Hive's finished product depending on the time of year.
