Wool Pots have been created by Tom & Graham who were horrified to discover that over 500 million plastic plant pots were being sent to landfill in the UK every year because they are not recyclable. Farmers are burning their wool because they have no viable market for their fleeces.
With these two challenges in mind Wool Pots have been created as a zero waste alternative to plastic pots and a huge benefit to the planet.
They have friends who farm sheep and it gives us huge pride have created a new range of products that will find a home for their “unloved” wool.
Wool Pots are knitted from washed wool… they know knitting plant pots sounds strange but they can assure you Wool Pots are strong, naturally biodegradable, environmentally friendly and plants love them.
Wool Pots' aim is to raise the awareness of the plastic problem in horticulture and let people know there is an alternative. Huge damage is being done to our planet but people may not realise the scale of the problem they want to raise awareness and show them a solution.
We are proud members of the Campaign for Wool and are thrilled to be helping farmers find a new market for their wool.
