Our recipe section has a range of home-style cooking and meal ideas to use those delicious organic vegetables you have worked so hard to grow. Now time to reap the benefits!

You can of course, use our recipes as a guide and tweak them to suit your own tastes. They are in the main, written by somebody who loves food and doesn't measure anything so we hope you enjoy our 'rustic' take on the selection of dishes here.  We have recipes by vegetable, fruit, nuts or herbs and soups, which are extremely versatile as well as some fabulous and inspiring Canning & Preserving recipes and information from our lovely friend at LoveJars - Rosie.

Kebab Shop Chilli Sauce

Make your own just like the authentic Turkish version to top your favourite grilled meats and salads!

Ingredients

This is an easy no cook sauce to add flamin' flavour to your grilled meats, BBQ or salads!

  • Fresh chopped tomatoes/400g tinned tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Puree or Passata
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves, crushed 
  • 2-3 Thin chilli peppers, chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • Handful of fresh Mint or 1-2 teaspoons Mint Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar 
  • Lemon juice 
  • Chilli powder to taste (optional) 

 

Please note that our recipes are an approximate guideline - Quantities along with ingredients are totally adaptable to suit personal taste, consistency and density as well as portion sizes.

Method

This is so simple!

All you need to do is add all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

If you would like a smooth sauce, you can blend it and for a chunky sauce leave as it is.

You can adapt the sauce, for example less or more chillies depending on how spicy you like it. For a sweeter sauce, add runny honey or sugar. You might want to drain some of the tomato juce away or thicken up your sauce....

Store in a sealed container in the fridge for a few days.
