Our recipe section has a range of home-style cooking and meal ideas to use those delicious organic vegetables you have worked so hard to grow. Now time to reap the benefits!

You can of course, use our recipes as a guide and tweak them to suit your own tastes. They are in the main, written by somebody who loves food and doesn't measure anything so we hope you enjoy our 'rustic' take on the selection of dishes here.  We have recipes by vegetable, fruit, nuts or herbs and soups, which are extremely versatile as well as some fabulous and inspiring Canning & Preserving recipes and information from our lovely friend at LoveJars - Rosie.

Shakshuka

A tasty start to the day, certainly a change to cereal!

  • Kagyana

Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 yellow pepper chopped
  • 1 Red onion chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin ground
  • 1 teaspoom smoked Paprika
  • 400g fresh or tinned tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh coriander or parsley to garnish

Method

Heat the oil in a frying pan on a medium heat and soften the onions and peppers stirring

Add the garlic, paprika and cumin, stirring regularly 

Add the tomatoes, tomato puree and seasoning

Let simmer and stir regularly and let the sauce thicken

Make four holes, one at a time in the mixture and break an egg into the gap

Cover the pan with a lid for a few minutes or until the egg whites are white and the yolk is runny

Serve and garnish with fresh herbs
