Spaghetti Bolognese

An Italian inspired family fabourite!

This Italian family favourite is a versitile dish that can be adapted to your taste with added veggies to use up those leftovers!

  • Minced beef (Unless you are making a vegetarian version)
  • Onion
  • 2 Cloves of garlic
  • Italian seasoning or Oregano
  • Black Pepper
  • Vegetable stock
  • Tomato puree
  • Tinned tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Pasta
  • Cheese 
  • Fresh basil

Please note that our recipes are an approximate guideline - Quantities along with ingredients are totally adaptable to suit personal taste, consistency and density as well as portion sizes.


Fry off your mince, chopped onions and crushed garlic cloves until the meat is brown and the onions are soft

Add mushrooms (optional)

Add herbs/seasoning, keep stirring your mix

Add tomato puree as per your taste (approx one tablespoon) and stir in

Add your tin of tomatoes or alternatively some fresh chopped tomatoes (you will need to add a little water) and stir in

Add a crumbled vegetable stock cube or two and stir in.

Let your bolognese simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally

Whilst your bolognese is simmering away, put a saucepan of water to boil

Add your spaghetti or pasta

Bring the boil and simmer until cooked (soft) (approx 15-20 mins)

Drain and serve, topped with your bolognese sauce

Add grated cheese/Parmesan for added flavour (optional)

Garnish with some fresh Basil leaves (optional)
